Tracing The 1st Owner

This part of the story is quite long but let me summarize it as the following (the steps i taken):

* I made a search at the RTD on the ownership of the car using its plate number.

* Once i got the details from RTD, i made a dearch at the Registration Dept to know the status of the owner (dead or alive). And the reply was "Active" which i believed to mean "Alive". The RD even give the last known address of the owner.

* Then a problem arose. The owner last known address was in Simpang, Taiping, whereas i was staying in Johor. Which is quite far by Malaysian standard. hehe! The problem is, the owner might have moved out. If i write to him, i didn't think he would bother to reply. Suddenly i remember about the "103" inquiry line by TM. And what do u know? he was still there. I called him several time and set a meeting to transfer the car into my name.

* It turned out that after 2 trips to Taiping, the car still cant be transfered into my name ( due to different rule & procedure between RTD Johor & RTD Perak. Shoot! :(

* Finally, the owner came all the way to Johor & help me with the transfer. It was settled within 1 day. i spent about RM1,500 for my 2 trips to taiping and "duit minyak & duit kopi" of the 1st owner to Johor. But still, RM2,300 (RM1,500 + RM800) for a running condition 1961 Amazon was very much worth it.

* Just like that, i became the registered owner (2nd on the record) of the car. :D
